When the invitation reads “Biryani,” who could say no? We were thrilled to be invited for a food review at Biryani Pot, the newly opened fast-food restaurant located in Galleria Mall, Abu Dhabi.

From its posh location to the aesthetically arranged food court, Biryani Pot provided a gourmet delight that exceeded our expectations.

The biryani at Biryani Pot is prepared and served in the traditional way, cooked in an earthen pot that is sealed with dough to keep it warm for an extended period. As the only restaurant in Reem Island offering a diverse range of delicious Indian cuisine, Biryani Pot caters to all taste buds.

One notable aspect of their menu is the inclusion of healthier options, such as quinoa biryani. Weight watchers will undoubtedly appreciate their prawn quinoa biryani offering.

As a red meat lover, I opted for their lamb biryani. While chicken is the popular choice for many dishes, I firmly believe that only red meat can truly do justice to pulao, kabab, biryani, and nihari.

Now, let’s dive into the mouthwatering food itself. The lamb biryani was an absolute delight! The tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat was perfectly balanced with aromatic spices.

In addition to their speciality biryani, we also ordered butter chicken, the special mixed grill, samosa chaat, and the tamarind fattoush salad. For drinks and dessert, we savoured the mango lassi, lemon mint, and delectable rasmalai.

As someone who prefers milder spices, I found that everything Biryani Pot had to offer was not overpowering and was mildly spiced. The tamarind relish added a delightful zing to the fattoush salad.

Can you guess what our favourite item on the menu was, apart from their signature biryani? It was the samosa chaat! This flavourful and delectable snack is perfect for starting off a meal or enjoying along with a cup of chai.

The mixed grill platter consisted of tandoori chicken, malai chicken, and lamb seekh kabab. Each item was cooked to perfection, but my personal favourite was the malai chicken. The meat was tender and moist, a testament to their cooking expertise.

The saffron-infused rasmalai and the butter chicken were both delightful and well-balanced in taste.

During our visit, we had the opportunity to speak with Head Chef Cham Kumar, who has been with the company for 8 years. Trained in Delhi, Chef Kumar brings a conventional approach to cooking, and his chicken biryani is the fastest-selling item on the menu.

We also had a conversation with Jaison George, the restaurant manager, who brings eleven years of experience in the food industry and an impressive profile. Biryani Pot is a casual dining restaurant with four branches, and its menu has been carefully curated after extensive trials to cater to a wide range of customers.

With its high-end ambience and excellent food, Biryani Pot is a must-visit destination when you’re in the capital.
