From interiors glistening with gold tones to the theatrical display of food, Doors has proved George Bernard Shaw’s quote, “There is no love sincerer than the love of food,” true.

Looking for an extraordinary dining experience in the heart of old Dubai? Doors Freestyle Grill is the place to be. Nestled in the vibrant Al Seef Dubai, this Turkish fusion eatery has quickly become a favourite among meat lovers and food enthusiasts alike.

Combining tradition and modernity, Doors Freestyle Grill showcases a passion for food and an unwavering commitment to providing an unforgettable experience.

Upon entering the tastefully decorated restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff and escorted to our table, which offered a picturesque view of the Creek.

Doors Freestyle Grill boasts six distinct areas, including a VIP room, a hookah bar, and Al Fresco seating, each creating a unique ambience for guests to enjoy.

As we settled in, we decided to quench our thirst with their refreshing mocktails. I chose the Cucumber Lychee Cooler, while my companion opted for the Blurred Habitea. Both visually stunning and packed with flavour, these mocktails were a delightful start to our culinary adventure.

The Cucumber Lychee Cooler, garnished with a perfectly embossed cucumber, tasted as refreshing as it looked. Meanwhile, the healthy Blurred Habitea had a distinct hibiscus tea flavour and was beautifully adorned with edible flowers, adding a touch of freshness to the day.

One of the highlights of Doors Freestyle Grill is its exceptional mocktail bar, where skilled mixologists craft delicious concoctions that are a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

To kickstart our dining experience, we indulged in the Eggplant Salad and the Pomegranate Salad. At Doors, salads are far from ordinary. The Pomegranate Salad, with its combination of ten delightful flavours and edible flowers, was a true masterpiece. The addition of goat cheese and honey elevated its taste, transforming a simple salad into something extraordinary.

Being a fan of eggplant, I eagerly awaited the Eggplant Salad, recommended by our server as the perfect accompaniment to the lamb. The eggplant is roasted on charcoal for over four hours, resulting in a charcoal-infused flavour that exceeded my expectations. If the appetisers were this remarkable, I could only imagine what awaited us in the main course.

Soon, a trolley rolled out, showcasing a generous piece of beef tenderloin. Our server skillfully cut the meat into succulent steaks, revealing a giant beef bone standing atop a sizzling hot plate. Citrus-flavoured hot butter was drizzled over the bone, enhancing its taste with the rich marrow. The steaks were cooked in this aromatic oil and then covered with bread to absorb the essence before being presented in rolled-up pieces. The melt-in-your-mouth beef steak was the epitome of juiciness. With just two pieces, I was already satiated, but there was one more delight to savour—the Lamb Tenderloin.

At Doors, they ensure the highest quality of meat by sourcing lamb from their own farm. While most restaurants offer only select cuts, Doors utilises the entire lamb for their menu. The marinated lamb was cooked to perfection before arriving at our table, where it received its final touch—a gentle sear with a blowtorch. As tradition dictates, we took our first bite from the host’s hand, savouring the spiced, mouth-watering tenderness of the lamb mixed with the eggplant salad. With that unforgettable bite, we were left to relish the rest of the meal.

Now, it was time for dessert, the moment my sweet tooth had eagerly anticipated. And Doors did not disappoint. A tray adorned with fresh fruits and delectable desserts graced our table.

It was a sight to behold as the Freestyle Creme Brulee was torched and garnished right before our eyes, creating a captivating presentation. The desserts at Doors Freestyle Grill have a unique twist—they are sweetened with natural honey instead of sugar, allowing the flavours to shine through in perfect harmony. Another standout dessert was the Gullac, a light and fluffy delicacy sweetened with rose water and crafted with a blend of camel, goat, and cow’s milk. But it was the creme brulee that stole the show, offering a heavenly finale to our dining experience.

Before bidding farewell, we took a moment to explore the rest of the establishment. Doors Freestyle Grill pays attention to even the smallest details, including their meticulously designed restrooms adorned with Versace decor—truly a rarity to encounter. The furniture throughout the restaurant is exclusively imported from Spain, adding a touch of elegance to every corner.

Our unforgettable experience at Doors Freestyle Grill left us eager to return, perhaps to indulge in their exclusive shisha blends on our next visit. If you’re seeking a dining adventure that combines a show-stopping atmosphere with bursting flavours, make your way to Doors Freestyle Grill and prepare to be mesmerised.
